If you have followed my blogging on Somaliland, you will know that I am working to help that country create a software development industry. Here’s the update to this project. We launched the website to explain the project in the simplest of terms. Take a look and tell me what you think. While it is really easy to sell a commercial project for a millon dollars here in Norway, it is much harder to finance... Read more!

A talk on simplicity - in coaching, in life, in games, in the search for truth and free will. I pulled up the phone and my mini-mic and did this raw and personal talk in the woods. First take, no editing. I cover some breaktroughs in coaching, my quest for free will and the best improvement practice I’ve found so far and its contrast to the complex mess called Scientology. I had to get my son Jonatan (16) to grow up and help me to complete this project from 1999. Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by the works of the Dutch artist M.C. Escher. His artwork is very diverse, but it was his drawings of “impossible objects” that caught my interest and has remained an inspiration all my life. His “Waterfall” started my fascination with dimensions and led me to explore... Read more!

Firstly: Merry X-Mas! Then: Welcome to the revamped isene.org. I took the time to do a make-over of this site. Apart from the new looks, it now works better on mobile devices with smaller screens. The purpose is to make it simpler, less cluttered and with less clicking to read the blog posts. I also added the opportunity to add comments to pages such as my Scientology page or my HP-41 cave. Feel free to... Read more!

Midnight Magic was a local radio station show running from 1987 until 1990 on Radio City/Oslo and Radio Oslofjord. It is the only radio show in Norway that had a boot leg black market with cassette tapes selling for as much as USD 50 at the time. It brought role-playing to the air and we got to the second spot in the ratings, only beaten by Coca Cola Top 30. As the father of Midnight... Read more!

Informa Connect interviewed me in Singapore and asked about my views on the shipping industry. In this short video I talk about the good and the bad of the industry and what it perhaps lacks the most - empathy. Link to this post: https://isene.org/2019/12/shipping.html Read more!

While I certainly hold true that anyone has the right to believe anything, an important negative side of religion or any belief has become clearer to me. A belief can become a barrier to discover truth. A belief is a substitute for facts. It is often difficult for a person to want to search out facts in an area where a belief is held. Religion contains a composition of beliefs. If held strongly enough, the... Read more!

Increase your productivity. Create better ToDo lists. Describe projects and processes more consisely. Reduce any concept down to pure simplicity. Use HyperList. You can put any description of anything down as a simple HyperList. On paper, on a board, in a document. HyperList itself is just a way to describe stuff - some rules and ways to make descriptions simpler. And now this method is released in a new version - 2.4. It has been... Read more!

A lot is happening over at the Amar wiki. With plenty of new ideas from players and with solid play testing, some fundamental concepts have come to the fore. Having developed role-playing game systems for more than 35 years, I thought I had covered most bases. But then came my 16 year old son Jonatan and beat me hands down. He has devised a rather neat new way of thinking about magic in a fantasy... Read more!

Here’s a neat little thing I just discovered: Gource - a software version control visualization tool And I used it to create a visualization of the development of this site (isene.org) since I launched it as my new home last summer, using Jekyll as my platform: Just some summer geekery :-) Link to this post: https://isene.org/2019/08/isene-org.html Read more!
